The fabled 'Arkie Connection'?

Posted By on Sun, Nov 26, 2006 at 3:10 PM

You can't ever be too sure whether Sacha Baron Cohen's stuff is staged or real. However, the Borat creator has a segment in one of his old "Da Ali G Shows" in which Bruno, an outrageously gay Austrian fashion journalist (Cohen's other characters, Ali G and Borat also portray TV "journalists"), interviews a "Pastor Quinn from Little Rock."

"Pastor Quinn" makes his living by "converting" gays into born-again Christians.

Bruno's interview, like many of the Ali G/Borat/Bruno set-pieces, is almost too painful to watch in what it reveals about the interviewee. Click below to watch it.

PS -- "Bruno" is supposed to be the star of Cohen's next movie.
