The final big push is this weekend for the runoff in the critical Zone 2 LR School Board race between incumbent Micheal Daugherty and challenger Anna Swaim.

Turnout for this event will be interesting to watch because it might offer some gauge of the success of Daugherty's get-out-the-vote effort. He'll have a rally at 2 p.m. Saturday on a parking lot at 12th and Pine. Neighborhood pastors who've endorsed him previously are likely to be on hand. But the featured speaker is a big name in the religious community, Bishop Steven Arnold of St. Mark Baptist Church on 12th Street, one of the city's biggest predominantly black congregations.
