Technical difficulties

Posted by Max Brantley on Wed, Jul 28, 2010 at 11:29 AM

Well, our internet service is out again. The new iPhone works, but its blogging use is limited.

News of note: Jail inmate testifies Randeep Mann offered him $50,000 to finish job on state Medical Board chairman injured in bombing of which Mann stands accused. Dr. William Harrison is closing his Fayetteville abortion clinic. Health reasons cited.

More when I can.

WRONG! Don't sound like a god-damned fundie!

Dr William Harrison owned-administered the Fayetteville Women's Clinic.
Abortion was one of several services offered in the diverse field of OBGYN.

It occurred to me watching the Clinton Wedding coverage this morning; all you really have to do control a politician is make sure he makes his first $5 million (or a journalist for that matter.) Legal means are perfectly fine. It need not come from a source seeking influence. Once you affect him with that sense of entitlement all committment to commom sense or the 'small' people become very theoretical. He is a liberal in name only after that.

I hope Dr. Harrison can find someone to take over.
It's hard finding doctors that are willing to offer abortion services.

Dr. Mann seems pretty stupid. One of the last things you want to do is talk to other jail inmates and you especially don't want to offer them $$ to commit a crime. You will be ratted out.

I reported on that case in January.

  • Here comes Rapert: Defending sexually transmitted disease

If Sen. Jason Rapert doesn't take the lead on this, I'll be very surprised. It's yet another foray by wingnut, religionist Republicans — to triply repeat myself — to get their hands into the pants of Arkansas women, this time to prevent them from avoiding sexually transmitted disease and pregnancy.
