Rove's candidate in the First

Posted by Max Brantley on Thu, Jul 29, 2010 at 4:48 PM

Blue Hog Report provides some background on a contributor to 1st District Republican congressional candidate Rick Crawford. He's a Texas oilman who's one of the bankrollers of a Karl Rove political attack machine set up for this year's election. His environmental record isn't so hot, by the way. Surprise.

Now the 1st District can have them some Johnny Boozman who will vote just as his managers tell him to vote.

A former bankrupt rodeo clown. I hope hope Hollywood is watching this one.

Rove put together American Crossroads while the Koch Bros were busy funding T'bagger's + Dick Morris. Why? Well, tokenism is fine for public profiling but for winning elections, not so much:

"The elections in November offer a sign of hope for many in the GOP, but the party’s central command, the Republican National Committee, appears no longer able to meet the demands of the party or its donors. Instead, even longtime supporters are looking to grassroots movements and other GOP groups such as Republican Governors’ Association, the Tea Party movement, American Crossroads and the American Action Network.

Republican distrust in RNC began shortly after the first scandal under Steele’s leadership, when RNC officials reportedly held a fund raiser in a Hollywood strip club and spent thousands on private jets and hotels. And most recently, the RNC revealed that it is $7 million in debt rather than the $3 million it had reported earlier, although RNC now claims it is paid.

Have they ever been paid back for the Hollywood strip club expense?

What's the latest on the Pelosi candidate in the first?

I'm thinking he ought to have the inside track to some phat DCCC money being a House Democrat insider and all.

Don't think it was a "fund-raiser" eLwood.

Regardless, why would you raise sand with contributing to those girls' pursuit of their art? I know it wasn't exactly the sort of art Democrats prefer, like Serrano's "Piss Christ," and it's not supported by tax dollars, but it's still an art form. Don't be a hater. Those girls work hard and have an education to pursue.

For those tired of rovian repugs and Dinos, the Green Party candidate in the 1st is Ken Adler -- http://www.kenadlerforcongress.org - 870-793-7655.

Before you start with "spoiler" and "wasting a vote" screeds, what do you think you've been doing with your vote for all of these years? You voted for what you thought were the lesser of two evils and still got screwed just as bad. It isn't until people vote FOR a candidate whose platform they want, they'll get real representation.
