Andy Griffith backs Obamacare

Posted by Max Brantley on Fri, Jul 30, 2010 at 1:27 PM

Andy Griffith has filmed a commercial for Medicare touting the benefits of new health legislation.

Maybe the Repubs can get Floyd and Goober in rebuttal.

Here's a funny part. Andy's endorsement for President Obama has brought out some 'baggers on the Facebook page for fans of Andy Griffith re-runs.

About time to have a pro campaign to counteract the cons.

Who's going to fuss about socialized medicine taking care of you from the womb to the tomb?Of course you'll die younger because the gov won't pay for your care if you get to costly.Oh well, live until you're 60 then drop dead.

Just love those boogey BS predictions that are made up out of thin air. Next thing you know they'll be telling me that cell phones cause hair loss in bald men, TV signals make dogs hump the furniture, and everyone you know who is over 66 years of age always has been and always will be denied coverage if they get really, really sick.

Don't think so, dumbass.

The insurance company will find a way to cancel anyone's care who gets too costly, 60 or 6.

This sob has been a closet liberal forever. I am just sad that he is from North Carolina. I wonder if he and Jim Nabors, (goober) are really closer than we think.

The old fool. He just reads what they put in front of him. It just shows the contempt that the obama administration has for seniors that they believe seniors will follow blindly what the old fool says. The democrats will find out the consequences of their irresponsibility in November.

Actually,
Andy Griffith has always been on the liberal side of things, like most actors and musicians.

Some of you guys can't stand it because suddenly, he doesn't fit your Mayberry Machiavellian belief systems. His movie "A Face in the Crowd" is brilliant, and has a lot to say about today's media.

Well, jocephus, you must spend a lot of time thinking about what Goober and Andy "do." Maybe you should come out of your own closet.

Face in the Crowd was a wonderful movie but I don't think old Andy was acting much in that flick. I think he was being the real Andy. Know what I mean!

Is there not a law against the use of taxpayer money ($700,000, I hear...) to fund what is essentially a political ad?

At the very least there is a moral issue. It is simply wrong to exploit some ancient, pathetic, blathering moron to shill for the whitehouse. The poor old fool looks like he can barely hold his bladder in check.
