As readers noted last night, the Clinton family released five photos and a statement following Chelsea Clinton's marriage to Marc Mezvinsky in Rhinebeck, N.Y., Saturday evening.

It would appear the Clintons managed to keep a lid on the affair, not least because the invited guests were family friends, not a celebrity cattle call, who didn't rush to blab to the assembled horde of reporters. Looks like it was a lovely day.

Too much eye makeup

This Chelsea wedding thing has not been good tabloid material nor does it have the makings of a good reality show. What are these people doing with their time?

Looks like Bill dropped the weight Chelsea wanted him to. Good for him!

And good for this family! Congratulations!

Don't worry, Clinton wedding haters. According to AmericaBlog, Republicans plan to repeal.

November, from what little I know from reading magazines, if you dont wear more eye makeup than usual for formal portraits, it will look like you dont have any eyelashes. I think they look lovely. A beautiful family.

I've heard that too Tina about the eye makeup which probably also includes fake lashes. No matter what November says, i think she was a beautiful bride and the pictures that were released were all very well done. Best wishes to the couple for a long and happy marriage!

I'm tickled the Clintons managed to have their wedding and ignore the noise coming from all directions. Ain't none of our business. The 5 pictures they released to the press are plenty for me. I think Bill is too skinny. Come on by, boy, I got some meatloaf that will fatten you right up.

Frank Rich has an editorial in the NY Times today warning us to quit slobbering over a wedding none of us were invited to, and keep in mind the important things.....like more US solders being killed in Afghanistan this month than since the war began 9, count em, 9 years ago.

As the Chelsea wedding pushed out the news of the Wikileaks release of 92 thousand pages on the lost war in Afghanistan, so did Tricia Nixon's wedding push aside news of the release of the Pentagon Papers.

Don't let eye makeup conjecture cause you to take your eyes off the prize.

There it is. Mother-in-law firmly between husband and wife.

Bill now has the shape he had in 1969, long and lean. He doesn't need another wake-up call to say enough of McClards and Dunkin.

I love a wedding.
The bride and her mother look lovely, the men look happy it is all over.
Good wishes for a long and happy union.

(and for the haters out there, it did not cost in the millions and yes, we say Jenna Bush (also a lovely bride) all over the place when she got married.)

The clintons have enough money to go a fat farm when they blow up too much. Not to worry, bubba's weight will most likely go up again after the wedding. He always loses weight right before he has to be beautiful again. Hillary's weight----well it stays the same. She can always find a dress to hide the fat.

It's a shame some posters are so jealous that the only comments they can make are petty and hateful.

NVR: Surely you've observed that comments posted by good Boy Scouts are in accordance with the Scout Laws and are always helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, cheerful, and reverent.

SkyPilot--Excellent point! It appears that we have an imposter Scout in our midst!

On the Boy Scout thread Harvey said--"I was a scout and Order of the Arrow for several years and will be more than happy to match you oath for oath. Obviously you don't understand obeying an oath even when it costs you."

Obviously he doesn't understand either!

Obviously you didn't understand the Supreme Court when it asserted and affirmed the Boy Scout's refusal to allow homosexuality in the Scouts for very obvious reasons. Your refusal to respect that Constitutional right is telling! I respect their rights to determine their own requirements and not let social engineers do that.

Max,
I was quoting and correcting part of the 'Scout Law' not the entire. Also, I quote from the Scout Manual, page 20, Copyright 1948:

"You worship God regularly with your family in your church or synagogue. You try to follow religious teachings that you have been taught, and you are faithful in your church school duties, and help in church activities. Above all you are faithful to Almighty God's Commandments."

Also from the Boy Scout thread--Harvey said--"I can't think of a finer experience and a more nobler organization to guide young boys and young men into adulthood. The character building experience and the skills that I learned have been invaluable in adult life."

So as part of the character building experience, your Boy Scout troop taught you to be petty and hateful?

Thank goodness, all Boy Scouts don't learn the lessons you did Harvey!

A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful,Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

Yep, Harvey is the personification of all of these--NOT!

"You worship God regularly with your family in your church or synagogue"

Just wondering, Harv, back in 1948 did that synagogue part sorta piss you off? Except for the fantasy Biblical type Jews, aren't Jews in general somewhere on your shit list along side women, blacks, Hispanics, & Muslims? Just askin.....

Congratulations to the Marc and Chelsea - as well as the Clintons. Chelsea certainly makes a beautiful bride.

So who sponsored the wedding - Goldman Sach's, George Soros, Saudi Arabia, the US taxpayers with the bailout of Goldman Sach's? Did the Clinton's manage to get TARP money to use the 3 to 4 million dollars to stimulate the economy of the little town in New York where the wedding was held? What costs if any were paid for by the taxpayers?

report
Posted by Viper on 08/02/2010 at 5:04 PM

Well the normal taxpayer costs, Viper. You know the Congress decided back when Republican President McKinley was assassinated to extend Secret Service to Presidents, Former Presidents and Spouses. In 1997, Congress, under President Clinton, limited the Secret Service protection for former Presidents for ten years after leaving office.

President Clinton left office January 20, 2001 so he still has a five months left and the Secret Service covered him, his wife and Chelsea.
