Here's another case where you have to wonder why Sen. Blanche Lincoln dithered — well after sufficient Republican support was on the record — to say she'd support the Supreme Court nomination of the president from a party of which she is a nominal member. Particularly since Kagan also happens to be qualified for the job.
Lincoln at least declared on Tuesday. Sen. Mark Pryor acknowledgted his vote for Kagan on Wednesday.

She was too busy fighting for Arkansas families?
Perhaps she can issue a release telling us that she was thoughtfully reviewing Kagan's record, talking to Senators from both parties, pushing back against the extremes to find consensus on this issue to bring our Arkansas values to Washington to ensure they are on the Supreme Court...
Every time I see or hear the term "Arkansas Values" I just want to upchuck. Spare me the Minnie Pearl act Senator, please.
I think what happens in these cases is they get this huge political public relations apparat working for them and every decision must be probed, meetinged, polled, tested, vetted, test run, fretted, second guessed, reformulated, twittered, facebooked, texted, run up the flagpole and dithered before someone's wife at last gets disgusted and tells the head guy what to do. All this takes time.
I really am beginning to dislike this woman as she continues to insult the people of Arkansas. Only problem is that a big majority of those insulted do not realize it.
If Republicans approve of Kagan we (the lower 90 percentile) should all be very wary. That goes for Plantation Blanches approval too.
I am one of those who are not insulted by Sen Lincoln. I like her and I support her.I think some people have made it a new sport to see if they can put her down every time she does something. It is pretty sad. Blanche Lincoln will win reelection in Nov. So perhaps your silly cynical season can go on for another six years.

by central time.
What is it you like about her. And by that I mean specific actions related to her job? And I find your interest in her winning without mentioning Arkansans winning to be quite telling.
It's not about Blanche! It's about all of us. Blanche has a long and consistent record of representing the few rich. Yes she did add a couple pennies to school lunches, while she really works with all due diligence to eliminate taxes on dead rich people.
Blanche has been in power while the working stiff's income, health, liberty has fallen more than nealry any other point in our history.... all while two absolutely needless wars are waged longer than any others in our history.
Blanche has no real problem with any of that. Why don't you?
The only people to blame for Blanche are the people in Arkansas who voted her in and kept her in. As long as the Democrats in Arkansas continue to vote for her she will continue to act the way she does. So who is to blame for Blanche? Arkansas Democrats.
Either vote Green or Republican or shut up.
The last time I voted Green, the fool-of-a candidate ate some mushrooms and climbed up a tree in front of the Washington Co. courthouse.
Anyway, most elections seem to come down to choices of lessor evils, and this one is no different.
In the senate race, there are only two choices: 1) Lincoln; or 2) anything else, which has the effect of voting for Boozman.
Rather than driving to the polls and voting Green, would it not be more environmentally responsible to stay home, and thereby contribute to Boozman but save fuel?
"lessor evils". . .very interesting typo, scrapper. Enough for another thread? And while I'm here,, what the. ., way to foster some real conversation. You might consider following your own advice, unless you're a viable option to Lincoln. Carrick Patterson has nailed it, again. Y'all enjoy the H.I.V.(heat index value) today.
Ozarkrazo
My bad on the typo: should have been "lesser."
As for the rest of your message, I don't know what you're trying to say, but I do plan to follow my own advice.
Sorry, not gonna vote Green so that Boozeman can be in the Senate. Done with votes based on "principle"...Miz Blanche is not that good, but she is not Boozeman.
Plus she seems to not be ashamed to bring Fed dollars back to Arkansas.
How risky of Bad Blanche to, in the 11th hour, come out solidly (kinda) behind the shoo-in Kagan. What courage that decision must have taken!
We'll all lose on election day in November. John Gray will probably get a surprising number of votes, but not enough to get close to winning. So that means we'll get Miss Jane Hathaway for another 6 years or Deputy Dawg. Actually I'm being unfair to the late Nancy Kulp, the actress who played Miss Hathaway on the Beverly Hillbillies back in the 60s.
Nancy Kulp was a decorated WAVE back in WWII. She made a successful acting career despite being described as having the "face of a shriveled balloon, the figure of a string of spaghetti and the voice of a bullfrog in mating season." She was an intellectual, fluent in several languages and was a real live Democrat beaten in her one political race when her uber Republican costar Buddy Ebsen made commercials for her Republican opponent saying she was too liberal. Except for the physical description, Nancy Kulp was nothing like Blanche Lincoln, I apologize and RIP Miss Kulp.
I don't have to apologize for comparing John NOozman to Deputy Dawg, except there's nothing to indicate that Deputy Dawg had Boozman's mean streak. Mr. Dawg has no record of voting against sick children.
But John Boozman voted:
Voted NO on Veto override: Extend SCHIP to cover 6M more kids. (Jan 2008)
Voted NO on expanding the Children's Health Insurance Program. (Jan 2009)
John Boozman voted:
Voted NO on expanding research to more embryonic stem cell lines. (Jan 2007)
Voted NO on allowing human embryonic stem cell research. (May 2005)
Boozman likes it when yer sick.
John Boozman, not Deputy Dawg voted:
Voted NO on revitalizing severely distressed public housing. (Jan 2008)
Voted NO on regulating the subprime mortgage industry. (Nov 2007)
Voted NO on monitoring TARP funds to ensure more mortgage relief. (Jan 2009)
Voted NO on modifying bankruptcy rules to avoid mortgage foreclosures. (Mar 2009) Boozman wants you to lose your home.
Boozman, whose voting hand is owned by unknown forces voted:
Voted NO on prohibiting job discrimination based on sexual orientation. (Nov 2007)
Voted YES on Constitutionally defining marriage as one-man-one-woman. (Jul 2006)
Voted YES on making the PATRIOT Act permanent. (Dec 2005)
Voted YES on Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage. (Sep 2004)
Voted YES on protecting the Pledge of Allegiance. (Sep 2004)
Voted YES on constitutional amendment prohibiting flag desecration. (Jun 2003) He wants you facing the front of the class each morning at gun point, but he hates gays.
Boozman, not Deputy Dawg voted:
Voted NO on $40B for green public schools. (May 2009)
Voted NO on additional $10.2B for federal education & HHS projects. (Nov 2007)
Voted NO on $84 million in grants for Black and Hispanic colleges. (Mar 2006)
NOozman thinks education is a waste of time, he wants you stupid.
Boozman:
Voted NO on enforcing limits on CO2 global warming pollution. (Jun 2009)
Voted NO on tax credits for renewable electricity, with PAYGO offsets. (Sep 2008)
Voted NO on tax incentives for energy production and conservation. (May 2008)
Voted NO on tax incentives for renewable energy. (Feb 2008)
Voted NO on investing in homegrown biofuel. (Aug 2007)
He doesn't wear condoms, he wears a blow-out preventer on his hoo hoo.
OH god no! Mumbles voted:
Voted NO on protecting free-roaming horses and burros. (Jul 2009)
Boozman voted:
Voted YES on promoting free trade with Peru. (Nov 2007)
Voted NO on assisting workers who lose jobs due to globalization. (Oct 2007)
Voted YES on implementing CAFTA, Central America Free Trade. (Jul 2005)
Voted YES on implementing US-Australia Free Trade Agreement. (Jul 2004)
Voted YES on implementing US-Singapore free trade agreement. (Jul 2003)
Voted YES on implementing free trade agreement with Chile. (Jul 2003)
John's Jesus is the 100 dollar bill! Why wonder where yer job went?
John B. again:
Voted YES on building a fence along the Mexican border. (Sep 2006)
Voted YES on preventing tipping off Mexicans about Minuteman Project. (Jun 2006)
Voted YES on reporting illegal aliens who receive hospital treatment. (May 2004) Boozman HATES Mexicans!
On second thought, I apologize to Deputy Dawg. Boozman is much more like Cujo.
It's a sad comment on the state of our Party when we're subjected to Mz Lincoln 'agreeing' to vote for a Democratic President's QUALIFIED nominee. Gee...thanks.
I'm probably going to throw my vote away this fall and vote Green...despite vowing to never again do that after the SC appointed Monkeyboy. But I don't think I can will my hand to actually vote for Republican-loving Blanche...and, of course, there ain't no way no how I'll vote for Boozman for ANYTHING.
>>Rather than driving to the polls and voting Green, would it not be more environmentally responsible to stay home, and thereby contribute to Boozman but save fuel?<<
Save fuel on ALL your votes. Vote absentee. They mail you the ballot.

Republican filibuster stopped. Aid to extend state programs and public service jobs wins in U.S. Senate.
from my alltel phone.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The Senate overcame a key procedural hurdle Wednesday to send $26 billion more in federal aid to cash-strapped states.
The measure, which passed by a 61-38 vote, contains $16.1 billion in additional Medicaid money and $10 billion in education funding to prevent layoffs of teachers and first responders.

As always each person should make up their own mind and vote for the best representation, in their own opinion, regardless of which party wins or loses. None of us are Democrats just because we like Jackass cartoons, the color blue, Jimmy Carter, or our parents voting traits, etc., nor are we Republicans just because we like elephant cartoons, the color red, Gerald Ford or Karl Rove, etc..
However, the curious nature and timing of how and why Blanche 'Blank' Lincoln's decisions are arrived at (especially in an election race where her base is shaky) is why so many, normally loyal Democrats, voted for her opponent in the primary and will vote for an alternative to the main stream parties in the general election.
While many may vote for her because of her opponent and his record, this race, IMO is very truly a race between the 'lessor'/lesser of two evils (thanks to the serendipitous eloquence of scrapper72). Her coldly reluctant enthusiasm for all things aligned with her avowed party and ideology does not assure or reassure her base nor does it pull-in moderate Republican votes (if such an animal actually exists these days). It just reinforces the characterization of her as a weak and ineffectual pawn of corporate (donor) interests who has very little, if any, sense of responsibility to her other constituents.
Senator Lincoln refuses to represent the voice of the people of Arkansas . She must think that she knows what is best for us little people.
Blanche Lincolns' voting record speaks for itself;
Arkansas residents had voted to prohibit same-sex marriage 74 to 26 percent... Lincoln voted against the federal Family Marriage Amendment.
In October 2008, Lincoln voted for the $700 billion bailout package that passed the Senate 74 to 25.
In February, she voted for President Barack Obama’s $787 billion stimulus plan that passed the Senate 60 to 38.
Yet in 2003 she and Pryor opposed President Bush’s $350 billion tax cut because they said it would "send the nation’s deficit soaring."!
Lincoln lobbied hard for her seat on the Finance Committee*. On the committee, she has worked to make the child care tax credit REFUNDABLE to people who pay no income tax.
In 2006 she voted against a bill that would make it illegal to take a minor across state lines to obtain an abortion without parental notification or consent.
Voted YES on continuing federal funds for declared "sanctuary cities". To create a reserve fund to ensure that Federal assistance does not go to sanctuary cities that ignore the immigration laws of the United States and create safe havens for illegal aliens and potential terrorists. This vote is a motion to table the amendment; voting YES would kill the amendment.
Voted YES on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.
Voted NO on eliminating the "Y" nonimmigrant guestworker program. The guest worker program provides that 400,000 people will be able to come in to assume jobs in our country per year--adding to the 12 million illegal immigrants already here.
She has repeatedly demonstrated she is NOT for the taxpaying citizens of Arkansas. She talks out of both sides of her mouth and needs to be shown the door.
