Dr. No Boozman issued a news release the other day saying he opposed a "lame duck" session after the November election to deal with controversial issues. He'd hold such sessions only for national emergencies.
I guess that was a national emergency back in 1998 when Dr. No's predecessor, Asa!, led the Republicans' effort in a lame duck session to impeach President Bill Clinton.

You don't understand the Republicon mindset, Max. Naturally, impeachment of a political foe is the MOST urgent of national emergencies. What could be more pressing than POTUS getting a bj and lying about it???

Pick one you numbskull, the last decade has prooven you can't do both. Or at least prooven the Republicans can't do both.
Somehow I got on Boobman's email list and the one I received yesterday lauded the achievements and anniversary of Social Security and Medicare (different dates). He used terms like strengthen but he was damn careful to not have the word "privatize" appear in writing.
Can we pick some poor hospitalized person and then pick a medical procedure to do on them & call that a national emergency, à la Terri Schiavo?
