Looks like Mr. Beck's call for lively conversion of our nation took quick root in Ft. Smith. Baptism with gunfire: the Arkansas way of welcoming our blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into our hearts.

Please remind us again which Arkansas legislators were so supportive of the guns-in-church legislation.

I am not sure any of the posters above read the story before posting. This happened at 2 a.m., one person was arrested for marijuana poss., and those involved were juveniles. Not exactly your post service potluck.

Just wrongheaded thinking -- little booze religion and pot and men go beserk.

“. . guns were fired and one guest reported a pistol whipping during a family baptism celebration . . in Fort Smith.”

I guess the late, great Arkansas Gazette had it right: Fort Smith is a wild frontier far beyond the reach of Little Rock’s civilizing forces.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Let's hope Mom had sense enough to be home asleep with Baby in bassinet beside her. And enough sense left over to tell the errant family or families to straighten up, a lot to ask of anyone, let alone Mom with fairly new baby.

“A group of several men…are all minors.”

this lovely "group of several men ... all minors" should be rounded up, captured, and NEUTERED.

Maybe this group should do a bit of investigating about the Progressive Men's Club before they accuse them of being involved with Glenn Beck. Most of you accuse Glenn Beck and his crowd of being racists...

Also, firing guns in the air is against the law in Fort Smith; that makes these guys criminals. Minors in possession of firearms is against state code, also.

These are hardly the 'angels' of our state.
