No, the headline doesn't refer to a certain race on the ballot in Arkansas. It refers to a New York Times report on a concerted effort by a Republican in Arizona to field Green Party candidates (homeless and drfiters may apply). Guess who they think Green candidates help the most?

Apples and oranges between Arizona's Greens and Arkansas' Max sorry to say.
Since this thread is conspiratorial however, something that's been on my mind a while is bugging me. Did the Democratic Party establishment in Arkansas say a damn thing when teabagger/GOP'er-in-drag DC Morrison came out of nowhere to run in the primary? Of course not. Having DC in the race was the perfect stalking horse by certain elements of the Establishment Dems to help throttle Bill Halter. Since Morrison drew out the rednecks and Republicans in Democratic primaries, that allowed Blanche to back into the nomination via the runoff--and Garland County's limited runoff polling places.
Let's see, who do the Greens help the most -- I think the Republicans, but that's just a wild guess.
It doesn't matter about apples and oranges, they are both fruit. The point is Greens can't win and they give the edge to the GOP.
Even if the Greens represent the citizens, conventional wisdom says that in a 2 party system one needs to support the lesser of the 2 evils. This seems to make the point that the terrorists are right, that the Americans support evil, just the lesser evil.
“Evil when we are in its power is not felt as evil but as a necessity, or even a duty.”
Simone Weil
If only Democrats showed half the contempt for Blue Dogs and Lincoln Pryor-crats (Republicans) taking over their party... this would all likely be moot.
Both major parties have a long history of using money and dishonest tactics... as long as you stay in their box and blame the victim (in this case Green party)... the thugs win.
Truth be told, the terrorists are not all that wrong. This nation has terrorized the world for a long time, i.e., black people, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Cuba, Mexicans who just want to work at jobs Americans won't take, women of the world who are treated like slaves. Wait, I forgot the Indians. Don't we always forget the Indians? It's a long list, getting longer with our new most recent adventures.
And no, eureka, all the Dimmicrats (as Paul Greenberg would say and does repeatedly) I know do have contempt for the Blue Dogs. And how the hell can the Greens be the victim here? That I don't understand. They run for office, they lose. You smoke it, you get high. Simple.
Dems who claim to have contempt on occasion while still declaring intent to vote for them are the problem.
The Az Greens were victims of a bunch of republican teabaggers with some money. They can't win on their own or find a party to work within legitimately... so they did what they always do in one form or another.
Since you wont red the link max posted above:
*******
Mr. Pearcy and other drifters and homeless people were recruited onto the Green Party ballot**** by a Republican political operative**** who freely admits that their candidacies may siphon some support from the Democrats. Arizona’s Democratic Party has filed a formal complaint with local, state and federal prosecutors in an effort to have the candidates removed from the ballot, and the Green Party has urged its supporters to steer clear of the rogue candidates.
******
Blaming Greens for what is clearly a republican political operation, typically dishonest to the core, is blaming a victim. Greens around the country have faced these tactics before... and have come a long way in a short amount of time in warding them off, imo. Dems could learn a lot from them if only they were interested.
But blaming victims and promoting two evils with fear fear and more fear is what both D's and R's rely on.
Furthermore.. this declaratio by some that we are a two party system is a lie... obvious in a thread and discussion of sorts about a third party on ballots across the land. You do have a choice. And it cannot be a two party system when Dems fear Greens and republicans usurp them. it can't be both ways. We are a multi party system mired in a mental monied two party lockbox in your head only.
Greens garnered 20 percent against Mark Pryor last election with no money and hardly so much as name recognition. When three candidates are in play as is the case this cycle... it only takes a bit more than a third to win. Greens could win. And any threat to the existing D and R structure is a big win in and of itself.
The Greens, like the citizens of this state, have been made victim of a faux political process designed to enshrine corruption. A vote for a candidate that endorses or benefits from said corruption is a vote in support of that corruption.
“The only difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is that the Democrats allow the poor to be corrupt, too.” Oscar Levant
I read that Times story at 4:30 this morning, while Max was asleep. I certainly don't blame the Green Party for an obvious dirty trick by the Republicans. It is you, eureka, who seem to be blaming the faux victims. I can't imagine anyone in his or her right mind blaming the Green party. It's clear in the Times piece that the Arizona Republicans have done this. But go out on the street in Little Rock and ask 10 people to name a Green candidate, see what you find.
And this is just not true: "A vote for a candidate that endorses or benefits from said corruption is a vote in support of that corruption." My vote is simply to help keep Boozman out of the Senate. He's the lesser of two evils.
I'm done with this. It's so pointless it borders on the absurd.
Billyed,
It's a losing cause with this bunch. Their biggest problem, though, isn't their dogged wish for self-immolation. It's their misconception about their fellow Arkansans. Most, even if fully informed, wouldn't vote Green. Most would vote for Lincoln or Boozman because, generally speaking, they agree with them. Eureka and all the others can wail and gnash their teeth all they want about the evils of their voting records (and I will, too), but truth is they are mostly in line with mainstream thinking in Arkansas. The enemy, if there is one, is less Boozman and Lincoln and more us, as Pogo said. Elections are about choices. Politics is about the art of the possible. I can always wish for better, but I'm not going to commit political suicide by enabling a John Boozman.
Yep, we have met the enemy, but I'm not drinking that Kool-Aid. I'm taking that government dole, Social Security as of this month, which I've paid for since 1962, and I'm going to tend my garden, as Voltaire's Dr. Pangloss would say, and keep the damned hawk away from my chickens. I'll kill the bastard if I get a clean shot. AND I'm going to sit back and watch the joyful noise.
Agreed Max. When the new Senate lines up next January it will be critical if that body becomes Republican and they take us back to the Great Depression by thier economic policies. Make no mistake about it, the Republicans are hell-bent on destroying the New Deal and every social policy since.
“. . ask 10 people to name a Green candidate, see what you find.”
►Here’s what you find: “Huh?”
“The enemy, if there is one, is less Boozman and Lincoln and more us, . . .”
► Amen.
By the way, somebody sent me this link with an exhaustive list of Lincoln votes. It's instructive.
http://www.ontheissues.org/Senate/Blanche_…
So Billy reiterates he's voting for evil (be it dressed in lesser). While refusing to reject obvious evil and support someone who might not be evil at all / or certainly less by orders of magnitude.
Thanks Dems. "Embrace OUR evil" should be your next series of bumper stickers and t-shirts. The R's can just do it on red t-shirts and the Dems blue.... would save a lot of time and money.. and honestly demonstrate the contempt for "mainstream" Arkansans (and self) both major party supporters clearly have.
Lincoln = Republican Light
Boozman = Democrat Light
(But I'm still going to keep my head firmly implanted in the sand and pretend because one candidate has a D by their name, they are good and for the little people, while the one that has that R is evil and is out to destroy us all. Because I love to perpetuate and maintain ancient stereotypes that were originated in the 1930s, because I'm not about to change now in my old age.)
When in reality there is about .00002% difference.
And Billyed, yes I'm sure we actually deserved to be bombed on 9/11 right? Because the terrorists were right about us? Right? So why don't you move to Afghanistan or Pakistan and join up with the Tally-Ban, they probably will listen to your views on social security and the republicans as well, and I'm sure they will give it the due weight, then be-head you on the soccer field.
And I'm voting for Boozman because any candidate with Booz in their name is the right candidate for me.
Again....ActMax, you must be 12 years old. The people on this blog who say they're going to vote for Blanche also say they're doing so while holding their nose. Osama is closer to Democrat Light than Boozman....son...pay attention!
If you look at America while beating your chest and screaming We're Number One....you'll never understand why someone might want to bomb us on 9-11 or any other date. If you choose to believe that America is God's chosen nation and can do no wrong, you'll never understand why someone wanted to attack us on 9-11.
But if you open your eyes to the evil America has done since the end of WWII, it's not hard to see why people hate us. The way I view it and the way I conduct my everyday life...is to do as little as I can to cause someone to hate me. Therefore I don't invade anyone's property, I don't kidnap anyone, I don't torture anyone, I don't hold anyone for years in my basement for no stated reason, I don't pretend to be better than anyone, I don't take other people's property, I don't mess with anyone's elections, I don't support one bully over another bully, I don't turn my back and pretend I don't see one of my friends committing murder, I don't act like my god can whip your god...and on and on and on.
You can live in reality or you can live in a fantasy world where only WE are right, only God makes things happen and loves us, and continue down the path that will keep us under attack for the rest of time. I think learning from the past and correcting our behavior towards others is the smart thing to do. It's impossible to kill every enemy you make...so the smart thing is to make as few enemies as possible.
I fully understand that Boozman is worse than Lincoln and things will be more FK'ed up if Boozman is our next Senator. But I can't vote for Blanche another time. I can't support a bad Senator over a worse one. I just can't.....let the chips fall where they may.
Let the Arkansas and national Democratic Party learn that there is only so much shit we'll swallow. They forgot a long time ago that we're seeking the best and the brightest, not more dumbass crooks that will play the next round of I'll feather your nest if you'll feather mine.
ActMax-
You are wrong on the Boozman. He is a "good Indian" (and I just insulted some of my Cherokee ancestors) and doesn't think. He follows direction and I see no reason why he would change in the Senate. I would like someone actually looks at the fact and the proposals and not just at the phone message from the party leader to make their decision.
And yes, Blanche is Republican Lite but this state is so Republican and most still have a pre-1957 mindset. Go to any senior center for lunch and just listen to the conversations. In another generation or two we may get to the 21st century but I am probably guessing too early.
The last I checked, the people in the world trade center didn't have anything to do with our CIA over throwing foreign governments, or supporting one tin horned dictator or another. And yes, our foreign policy has made a lot of mistakes over the years. Vietnam being one of the biggest mistakes. But all in all, US Presidents both D and R have supported democracy and freedom. No one is perfect, and I'm certainly not claiming America is perfect, for IMO we are headed down a very dangerous path. But we certainly didn't "deserve" to be hit the way 9-11 happened.
If other countries disagree with our foreign policy the place to take it up is in the UN, not to fly air planes into buildings killing innocent women and children.
Now you will say, oh killing innocent women and children, kind of like carpet bombing in Viet Nam that we did? Yes that is a point, but as I said, we have made a lot of mistakes in foreign policy over the years, including big ones. But no one deserves to be hit by terrorism. Even communists. If you have to go to war, you should abide by the rules of war. Not hide behind innocent women and children.
@LinCo_Progressive ---You got that right...now if everyone else would just wake up and smell the roses...a vote for Dems/Repubs...you get the same in Arkansas...never in my life have a seen such a backward state when it comes to politics and that comes from someone that has lived further south!
The political system is a feudal system with the two parties backed by the Corporatists. Equal Rights in this state? LMAO! And, when it comes to voting...you might as well realize that if Arkansas keeps repeating it's mistakes in elected officials it will remain at the bottom of every chart except for those top 1%ers.
I heard there just might be some guest speakers @ below...if you want to get real...show up.

The Anti-Poverty Campaign 2010 front of the steps of the Capitol Building in Little Rock this coming Saturday, September 11 at noon. Solidarity for the workers, the unemployed, under-employed and the homeless.
@Max--A country didn't have anything to do with hitting us on 9/11 and to insist so is the height of ingorance and kool-aid sucking from the lies we were told to get us into IRAQ! Now if the Republicans could just man up and admit that that war was what cost is to slam into this "almost Great Depression" then perhaps we would have a chance at recovery. I for one am refusing to vote Lincoln also...it's time for Americans (and the peeps of Arkansas) to accept responsibility for whom they flip the switch in the voting booth. I will man up in my girl skirts and flip the switch for John Gray, U.S. Senate and Joshua Drake for Congressman 4th District. To vote any other way will give me no right to complain when we completely go down the feudal drain of the Arkansas DemoPUBS!
whether boozeman or blanche wins she will have even more power than boozman and will do everything that boozman will do and much worst right now shes ia trying pull billion dollar from the childrens welfare fund to give to riceland rice and budwiser farms in Arkansas this evil bitch must be stop max Quit drinking the kool aid brother .
Another day, another decision. DBI is right....I'm voting 3P for Gray because I can't stomach the thought of supporting Blanche. Let the cards fall where they may.
Death by a thousand paper cuts or death by the knife... I'm not sure why I was trying to drag out the inevitable.
Guess what, Max? Arizona Green Party has sued to remove those 11 candidates! Good on them! Sorry to rain on your "against the Green Party" parade. Arkansas Green Party is much stronger and knows how to recruit their own good candidates that consist of mayor, attorneys, professors, etc. who are highly qualified. You know that, Max! Don't you? Enough of your scary Big Bad Boozman story. Frankly, I don't give a damn! John Gray is MY man!

We are NOT enabling John Boozman by voting for John Gray. Don't you know that John Gray is a FDR democrat when AR Green Party picked him up?? He *is* a FDR democrat! He's highly intelligent. Why won't you *LOOK* at him for change? Why do you have such a narrow mind? Stop it, Max! You're destroying a great chance we could have here in Arkansas by throwing us stories of BIG BAD BOOZMAN and voting for "lesser of two evils". You know damn well that Blanche is NO GOOD! Wake up, Max! Before I forget we DO have Independent named Trevor Drown on ballot loved by teabaggers in Arkansas that will be sucking votes from Boozman. Max, I would like to know your issues exactly. Do you support Blanche's vote to kill public option? Do you support her voting against check card for labor? Do you support her vote for extending tax cuts for the rich? Do you support her vote for repealing real estate tax? Do you support her "against" the clean air act? Come on, Max, tell us what your issues are? Is Blanche Lincoln paying you?

I think Max has summed up very well the future of newspapers in Northwest Arkansas,…
I am all but sure that Joe never imagined this could happen. Even those of…
