Gene Simpson of Sulphur Rock, shown with his wife, held one of the two $1 million raffle tickets drawn yesterday by the Arkansas Lottery after a sale of 500,000 $10 tickets. Supposed to have been mine.

He really didn't get $1 million. He got only $680,000 after a 25 percent federal and 7 percent state tax bite.

He bought his ticket at Hawg's Exxon in Batesville.

UPDATE: Robert Atchley of Pearcy was the other winner, I notice on Stephens Media.
