Circuit Judge Jake Looney of Mena has announced he'll seek the District 4 state Court of Appeals seat from which Judge John Robbins plans to retire next year.

Looney is a former UA Law School Dean and almost certainly would be the first member of the appellate bench to raise spotted donkeys in his spare time.

Judge Looney is a fine candidate. He mentioned to me about a month ago of his plans. Good man, capable.

.

Any man who can raise Jesus ponies is a friend of ours. After all, Jesus never rode into Nazareth on an Elephant.

Looney and donkeys. Is that something like Judge Bill Wilson and his mules?

Would anyone else have a problem rising in court to face Judge Looney? I'm telling ya, you can't make this stuff up? And whatever happened to Linda Nooner?
