The U.S. Supreme Court today announced it would hear appeals of lower court rulings on the health care reform law. Its decision could come by next summer. Until now, the law has been upheld by courts more than not, but ....
Scotusblog said the court would hear three cases and hold 5.5 hours of oral arguments, but won't take up every questions raised in all three cases.
PS — CNN poll says majority of Americans now support the mandate to have health insurance.

Forcing the nation to pay 30% of its health care dollars to the insurance industry for their lobbyists, million dollar bonuses and corporate jets is not reform.
One of the great mysteries of life -- well, perhaps not -- is how a plan that was rejected by Nixon as being too conservative for even him has turned into a liberal plot.
The gold standard for health care efficiency and effectiveness is single-payer, and our government's refusal to adopt it is criminal.
100% of us will have to have health care and to be forced to use a system that delivers less care for more money than any other system in the world is no different than stealing my wallet.
It does however, put a fork in the myth of American Exceptionalism. Unless Exceptionalism is now defined as "globally ranking one step above Cuba in health care."
Fascism is a merging of corporations and State. The very idea this supreme court would reject t fascism - force citizens to buy a private for massive profit product or service... when the court is all about fascism and has full bipartisan Congressional, Senate, White House support is simply beyond funny.
When this country failed to reject the notion we can be forced to buy for profit auto liability insurance... we invited this fiasco.
Now we have the laughable moment of Democrats leading us further into fascism and having "liberals" and "centrists" call it victory.
****In the new poll, support for the individual mandate — requiring people to get health insurance — has climbed to 52%, with 47% opposed. When the last survey was taken in June, that a majority of 54% opposed it, with 44% in support.****
"to get insurance" it doesn't say "to buy" much less honestly say to buy the most expensive for profit insurance the world has ever had by force of law.
Anyone see Griffins full page lie in the ARDG this Sunday.
Something about Entitlement programs being funding by increased taxes on senior citizen's medicaid. Of course nothing was mentioned about the GOPs ongoing attempts to shutdown medicaid and SS completely.
Of course a majority of Americans now support it.
Once the idiots found out they weren't making Solent Green out of Granda Ma with death panels and children still unable to find a job with benefits could stay on parent's policies the hoi paloi are finding the whining billionaires are lying.
Obama knew they would be convinced when they saw positive outcomes well ahea of the 2012 electins.
PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE LYING BILLIONAIRES BEHIND THE CURTAIN, OBEY THE RICH AND POWERFUL OZ!
I'm certain the Roberts court, given its history of thoughtfulness, will make the right decision, untainted by the desires of corporate lobbyists. Alito, Roberts, Scalia/Thomas, et.al. have nothing but the interests of the Little Guy in their hearts. (for those with no sarcasm gland, this is meant to be sarcastic.)
They are considering four questions and the most interesting is #4-should the court even be taking up the case for questions 1-3 as the requirement for everyone having insurance coverage doesn't go into effect until 2014 so at present no one is being "harmed". If they kill the universal coverage, it will probably wipe out the current reductions in the donut hole which will impact most seniors on Medicare in a very expensive negative way (Tea Pot Brains get what they want-more bills paid by them, not insurance) as well as throw a bunch of college students and others under 25 thrown off their parent's insurance to the great appreciation of their parents.
The biggest possible losers-rural hospitals in poor states which will find that their patient load won't be covered in the ER, increasing Medicaid costs at the same time states are planning to cut their funding, and the Tea Pot brains want to cut the federal match. The rural hospitals are in a no-win situation.
Here's a quote for you Eureka to help your argument.
"Modern fascism should be properly called corporatism, since it is the merger of state, military and corporate power."
Benito Mussolini (1883-1945)
I found a lot of interesting information in your blog. From the volume of comments on your posts, I guess I am not the only one! keep up the good work.

I think about this print stuff a lot and believe I see the future though…
It is indeed sad to see the Times-Picayune in such a reduced state. The depressing…
