How bad is Mitt Romney? New polling shows President Obama ahead of Mitt Romney.
And then there's the Navy veteran, a Occupy South Carolina protester, booted from a Romney rally for wearing a T-shirt objecting to Romney's idea to privatize veterans benefits.
And really, Talking Points Memo asks, what could go wrong with the latest candidate boomlet — for Newt Gingrich. Baggage? Newt Gingrich? His middle name ought to be Samsonite.
Time to draft Huck.

Bring on the Huckster - he's tan, trim, rested and ready.
Well, tan, rested and ready. But he could get another lap band between now and Iowa.
An odd post. A CNN/Opinion Research sampling of more registered voters over roughly the same time period has Romney +4. Consensus of seven polls conducted since Halloween has Obama up +1.4. Slow and steady may yet win the GOP nod for Romney, but considering the state of affairs four years ago is instructive ... http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/…
"Middle name ought to be 'Samsonite.'"
Even if anybody at the D-G HAD a sense of humor, Paul, Walter, Mike, et al., they couldn't top that!
Here's for our former Perry2012, don't know what's the costume de jour but this should liven his bones. I'm very doubtful that Ark-Legies-For-Perry want the same tactic extended to state legislators.
"PERRY WOULD CUT CONGRESSIONAL SALARIES IN HALF"
"Gov. Rick Perry, seeking to regain traction in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, on Tuesday unveiled a sweeping plan to shake up Washington by vowing to slash congressional salaries, end lifetime appointments of federal judges and dismantle "wasteful, redundant federal agencies," including the departments of Commerce, Education and Energy."

Huck with all his ethics problems? He's let it be known that money means a lot to him. But he would fit in well with Congress, where I understand the inside information has made multimillionaires of members. I think George W. put his money in a blind trust, but that was voluntary. Congressional people are under no obligation to do likewise.
Sick!
And let's once and for all put Herman Cain to rest. Or let Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw, Columbia University and University of California, Los Angeles, law professor . . . and Catharine A. MacKinnon, professor of law at the University of Michigan and visiting professor of law at Harvard University, do it.

Gee, eLwood, it's been a long time since I sat in a civics class. Can a president do that? Because if they can, I'll send the suggestion to our current president fast, damn fast . . . well, about congressional salaries anyway. And lifetime appointments of federal judges, as long as we include the supremes. (Bye-bye, Clarence. Bye-bye, Samuel. Bye-bye . . . uh, who else? John? Antonin? And careful there, Anthony.)
I gotta see if I still have that old civics book. I musta missed a few pages there.
I couldn't agree more! But the flavor I love the most is Death by Chocolate!…
I think about this print stuff a lot and believe I see the future though…
It is indeed sad to see the Times-Picayune in such a reduced state. The depressing…
