"The 99 Percent," the Renaud brothers documentary on Occupy Wall Street premieres on the Current network tonight at 8 p.m. It's part of a weekly documentary series called the Vanguard and finds the Little Rock natives trailing Vanguard correspondent Christof Putzel as he moves into Zuccotti Park.
From the trailer, it looks like the Renauds got plenty of shots from the march that broke one of their camera that we reported on last month.
Showing 1-3 of 3
Cain't watch it tonight due to recent Dish receiver difficulties, but Current TV will show this many times over the next couple of months and I'll Tivo it when I get my Tivo abilities back.
Over the years America has become sick. Our political process is stupid and as rigged as any 3 world dictatorship. We've got Putin style elections, revisit the 2000 & 2004 elections. Add Citizens United and now our elections will really be toxic...pay close attention to the next 11 months for proof.
Why would anyone let their elected official suck up 100 times more in outside money than what we pay them? You slip into the back door of any factory and pay some worker 10 times what he's making and you have a willing tool ready to do YOU'RE bidding, not the bosses.
The result of all this outside money trickling into our Congress-critter's pocket is the bought & paid for Congress we have today. They quit working for us years ago. They work for the Military-Industrial complex....period.
When business and government marry, it's called Fascism. Lots of people have been worrying that America was becoming a Socialist country. Well, hon, while you were worrying about that nonsense, America became a Fascist country and with Citizens United it's going to get even worse.
Obama is standing over in the corner watching. I don't think he knows what to make of the Occupy movement. With your Occupy mind at work, you can sorta like Obama, but you can't love him because he has too many friends in the 1%, he is counting on the 1% on Wall Street to give him millions in campaign funds. Obama chose to look forward, not back and it's killing us. Obama has a big conflict of interest going on which doesn't fit into Occupy's rules. So Barry has a lot of thinking to do to decide which way to jump concerning the Occupy movement. Chose well, President Grasshopper!
Many heads continue to be cracked by the Goon Squads wearing a hundred pounds of body armor and carrying every kind of weapon this side of nukes. But I predict the winter will be fairly quiet. But come next spring....Sons of Katy Elder bar the door!
We need a cure for a sick nation. The only hope of a cure I see is in the Occupy Movement whose message is Be Honest Be Fair Be Equal, Be less greedy, have more compassion and QUIT BUYING OFF OUR GOVERNMENT! Who can disagree with that? Without Occupy the politicians aren't going to chill their greed. Without Occupy, giant US companies will continue to send the good jobs off shore and act like we're too lazy to work. Without Occupy, America will be at war with everyone forever because war makes war profiteers rich rich rich. The Military-Industrial complex will gladly kill your kids and grandkids to up their profits. And they don't care if you starve to death or die for the lack of medical care.....you're sick, you can't work....DIE.
It will take a revolution to set America back on the right track. We can have a peaceful one with the Occupy crowd, or we can have a bloody one if that doesn't work. But one way or the other things are going to change for the better for average folks. We've had enough, the 1% has gone too far and lovely art museums in a woodland setting doesn't make up for people hogging more money than the rest of us 150 million Americans. We must have financial equality. The lucky sperm club needs to be a tiny bit less lucky. What's wrong with that? Occupy!
dbi--True, but sad. When I paid $190. for a year of the D-G, it hurt…
Proves the adage that nothing is free, nothing is simple.
This whole mess stinks.
