Blue Dogs to endorse Clark Hall for Congress

Posted by Max Brantley on Wed, Dec 14, 2011 at 11:27 AM

I'll try not to hold this against Rep. Clark Hall:

U.S. Congressman Mike Ross of Prescott will host a conference call with reporters on today’s announcement by the Blue Dog Coalition to endorse Clark Hall for Congress in Arkansas’s First Congressional District. Ross, who represents Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District, also serves as the Blue Dog Co-Chair for Communications.

So far, I guess, Ross isn't ready to switch parties for his 2014 run for governor.

Ross comments:

“The Blue Dogs are fierce advocates of fiscal responsibility, government accountability and a strong national defense, which is why we are endorsing my good friend, Clark Hall, for Arkansas’s First Congressional District. As a farmer and former mayor, Clark knows how to work hard and get the job done. And, as a leader in the state legislature, Clark knows how to balance the budget — reaching across the aisle and taking the tough votes to give Arkansas a balanced budget year after year. We need more independent-minded, fiscally responsible leaders like Clark Hall in the U.S. Congress and that is why the Blue Dog Coalition is proud to endorse his candidacy."

Good news without a proper place to post it, Max. One provision of ACA is working two and a half times better than previously expected. There are now two and a half million FEWER young adults without health insurance since the provision of the law allowing parents to keep young adult children on their plan went into effect.

How many 'Blue Dogs' (read: fake Democrats) are even left? I thought most all of them were beaten like drums in last year's elections. The sooner we can get rid of the rest of these clowns, the sooner we can start actually making progress in this country. Mike Ross is a buffoon who is wholly owned and operated by the Republican Party.

Isn't it time to quit insulting our canine friends?

Dustin or Mike R, what a choice. I am for "none of the above". Come on, Bill Halter, and run.

A Blue Dog Democrat is better than a Republican any time. They usually are loyal to the Party on basic, economic issues, which is what the Democrat Party was always primarily about.

The only difference in a "BleuDawg" and a RedDog is that the BleuDawgs are usually in denial about their overt Republicanism. Functionally 90% of the time there is no real difference except for labels.

Mike Ross, Mark Pryor, et al., are DINOs (Democrats in name only). Dems are bad enough when it comes to caving -- even the demonized Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are careful not to cross any lines that offend the party's fat-cat funders on Wall Street, Silicon Valley and elsewhere. So if the party leadership won't even hold fast to the 80-year old New Deal, the ship of state that has kept millions from drowning over the decades is already sinking. The Blue Dogs are nothing more than a fifth column who conveniently wear the mantle of FDR -- not to mention Orval, Lester Maddox and George W(the other George W!)...

Glad I posted my early line early with its prediction about the inevitable resolution of the dispute between the state and the teacher and non-certified staff unions in the Pulaski County Special School District if the unions didn't bend to Education Director Tom Kimbrell's wishes.
