If this continues, there will be no joy in Mudville, aka Republican party headquarters all over the country. It's pretty obvious the R's primary goal is to defeat the "Kenyan/muslim/socialist" usurper rather than work with him to make life better for the 99%.
In other news, another one bites the dust. I find no reason to rejoice in this. It just makes me sad that this Mississippi mayor felt forced to live a lie due to the prevailing attitudes of his community. I hope he and his family can find a way to move forward and into the light. h/t to John Cole at BalloonJuice.

That should be Tom Levenson at BJ. The outrageous part of this story is that Mayor Davis may have made $170,000 in illegal charges to his city, Southhaven, Mississippi which included about $70 worth of stuff at the Toronto sex shop. The stealing $170,000 part doesn't make me sad---makes me see red.
From the report...
"Government posted the largest gain (+4,100). Most of the increase occurred in local government (+4,500). Most of the gains were
attributed to expansions in health care and social assistance (+1,900). Jobs in manufacturing decreased 4,700. Loses were posted
in both nondurable (-3,000) and durable (-1,700) goods manufacturing."
Great news, what we lost in creating wealth we gained in government waste.
Note to baker: Jobs in manufacturing have steadily DECREASED since 1982 when
Reagan/Bush began PAYING American manufactures to move production to low-wage, 3RD World Nations. There has been no let up.
Note to eLwood: Created government work for four thousand creates no wealth, it produces nothing but it does bribe votes.
Well, Baker, call the fire department and police department and tell them that if there is a problem at your addresss, ignore the call as you don't want any government services. Same with your roads and sewers and water and, and. You don't get a civilized life without someone doing the work and all of the infra-structure is getting older and not one bit better.
And if government employees vote, great. Too many Rethuglicans are doing their best to reduce the number of voters while if they believed in all the claptrap they speak, they would want more participation in government but they know, the more voters, the worst for Rethuglicans because only the true believers and FAUX listeners (the great unknowing) ever vote Rethuglican!
dbi--True, but sad. When I paid $190. for a year of the D-G, it hurt…
Proves the adage that nothing is free, nothing is simple.
This whole mess stinks.
