The accident was in Hollywood.

Whenever they have tiers of scaffolding at an event, why don't they spend a little extra money to put another scaffold behind the last one? It's cheaper than paying for medical costs. Too often people fall when they lose their balance or their chairs tip off. With a bunch of retired (elderly) people it would have been especially a prudent precaution.

Sounds like Brooks was diving for a few too many "High"balls!
I hope he is ok. What a wonderful ambassador for our state. Thanks to him, a friend and I (age 10)made the front page of the Arkansas Democrat, one afternoon in November 1970. He was signing autographs at the Boys Club downtown. The Orioles had just beaten the Reds in the World Series that year. I still have the picture and the ball he autographed 41 years later.
No better 3rd baseman than the "Human Vacuum Cleaner"!
