Good timing. My comment on the Fred Allen-Joyce Elliott Senate race comes just as I receive a note from the Coalition of Greater Little Rock Neighborhoods with its report card on candidates in the area they cover, plus a video forum and answers to written questions on issues of interest to the group.

Candidates Elliott and Allen both received “A” grades from the Coalition, based on questions related mostly to local governance. Both expressed support for a progressive municipal income tax as an alternative to continued reliance on a regressive sales tax to finance local government.

Interviews with the three candidates — Tjuana Byrd, John Hout and Patti James — for a circuit judgeship are included.
