Police beat NLR cops says texting might have contributed to fatal crash

Fox 16 reports on a single-car traffic fatality late last night on Batesville Pike in North Little Rock. Police say the driver may have been texting immediately before he left the road and hit a tree. He also wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

Mack Hinson, 36, of Sherwood was charged Monday with negligent homicide in a fatal accident last Oct. 25 on Cantrell Road The State Police said at the time that Hinson apparently hit a curb eastbound in the 12900 block of Cantrell (Highway 10) and then hit another eastbound car, which then crossed the center line and collided with a westbound car driven by Narjis Meti, 60. /more/

Sherwood voters went to the polls in voting concluded today on whether to approve a City Council-approved ordinance to enter a 20-year agreement with North Little Rock as a wholesale supplier of electricity, an arrangement that dates back to 1949. /more/
