Circuit Judge Wendell Griffen was admitted to St. Vincent Infirmary this morning for treatment following a bicycle accident.
His wife, Pat, said the judge was on his morning exercise ride and near home when, heading downhill on Pleasant Forest Drive, his brakes failed. Griffen fell, landing on his face. He was wearing a helmet, but that didn't prevent lacerations, bruises and swelling. He was admitted to ICU for observation overnight, but Mrs. Griffen said he was conscious and alert.
