Crime Three dead in shooting near Texas A&M

News reports say a suspected shooter is in custody following an outbreak of gunfire near the Texas A&M campus in College Station. Three people reportedly were hit.

UPDATE: Now it appears that three are dead — a law officer, the gunman and one other person. The law officer was a constable. They serve eviction papers in Texas and that has led to some speculation that this could have been a factor in the incident.

A 16-year-old Ft. Smith boy was wounded in the shoulder yesterday by a friend who shot him with a .40 caliber pistol while they were playing a "zombie game" with another teen. /more/
Two shot at Verizon Arena this morning

Officers with North Little Rock police responded to a call about a shooting at Verizon Arena this morning around 11 a.m. and found two people shot. /more/

Curry: Darr's Mayflower comments are "shameful" and "wrong"

Little Rock School Board member Dianne Curry, who is running for lieutenant governor, said that current Lieutenant Governor Mark Darr was "using the misery of the people, the residents of Mayflower, Arkansas, to garner feel good press."
