Presidential politics Romney to Little Rock Aug. 22

Mitt Romney is scheduled to attend a private reception in downtown Little Rock next Wednesday, Arkansas News reports. A ticket to the dinner at the Capital Hotel goes for $50,000 per couple. At only $10,000 per couple, a photo reception is a bargain.

Chump change for Little Rock financial mogul Warren Stephens, owner of the Capital Hotel and recently announced as a financial bundler for the Romney campaign. Romney's promise to cut taxes down to his level would pay back events like this in spades.

ExxonMobil responded to Mayflower spill slower than federally required

ExxonMobil claims that it shut down its Pegasus pipeline 16 minutes after it ruptured in Mayflower on March 29. That timeline is still under investigation, but even if ExxonMobil's contention is verified, it would still fall short of what a federally approved Emergency Response Plan required. Little Rock Film Festival's downtown debut a success

If anyone was skeptical of the Little Rock Film Festival's move away from a cineplex in Riverdale to downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock, surely their doubts were assuaged after this year's fest.
