*HOGS FALL SHORT IN FINAL GAME: At least it was entertaining. Now, as Beau Wilcox writes in this week's Pearls About Swine, it's Jeff Long's turn. To pull in the right coach, Wilcox writes, he'll need more than big bags of Razorback Foundation money.

*WALMART, PROTEST GROUP DISAGREE OVER SIZE OF PROTESTS: Naturally. The union-backed OUR Walmart said it counted 1,000 protests in 46 states and strikes in 100 cities. Walmart called those numbers "grossly exaggerated," according to Reuters.

*LAY OFF POT INJUNCTION, MR. PRESIDENT: Nice distillation of the argument for the federal government letting Washington and Colorado be from Timothy Egan in the New York Times.

Social revolutions in a democracy, especially ones that begin with voters, should not be lightly dismissed. Forget all the lame jokes about Cheetos and Cheech and Chong. In the two-and-a-half weeks since a pair of progressive Western states sent a message that arresting 853,000 people a year for marijuana offenses is an insult to a country built on individual freedom, a whiff of positive, even monumental change is in the air.

Consider this a late open line.
