Zachary Dewayne Holly, 28, was arrested Monday in connection with the case. Holly reportedly lived in a house that stood between Bridgeman’s house and the vacant house where her body was found. Holly has been charged with capital murder, kidnapping and residential burglary. Bridgeman was living with her mother at the time of her death.

The girl had been the focus of a high-profile abuse case in Bentonville last year, when investigators discovered that her father and stepmother kept her chained to a dresser at night as punishment for getting out of bed and walking around the house. Both her father and stepmother eventually pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including false imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a minor, and are currently serving prison sentences.
