
Bass will succeed Nan Selz, whose tenure saw the revamping of the interactive science museum with help from a $9.2 million grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation. Bass has been a member of the museum's board for nearly three years.
Before joining the staff of UALR, Bass spent nine years at Acxiom and was a reporter and editor at the Arkansas Gazette before joining the Times. It should also be noted that he is senior editor Max Brantley's brother-in-law.
Diane LaFollette will remain as chief operating officer at the museum.
