Police beat Store robbery in Mablevale

The Crackerbox convenience store at 10402 Mablevale Pike was held up last night just after 9:30 p.m. by two men. Clerks said they were working behind the counter when two masked robbers came in with automatic handguns.

After telling the clerks to open their registers and get down on the floor, the men took the money in the till and the clerks' wallets, then fled into nearby woods.

A new wrinkle on the armed robbery beat perhaps. From the LRPD: An assistant manager of the Kmart on Rodney Parham reported he was robbed after closing about 9 p.m. /more/

Judge Griffen reports on recuperation from bike accident

Circuit Judge Wendell Griffen, injured in a bicycle accident last week near his home, sent me an update this morning from his iPad.
