Manic Monday open line

Posted by on Mon, Mar 11, 2013 at 5:44 PM

VOTER ID TO RULES COMMITTEE: House Speaker Davy Carter plans to send it to Rules tomorrow. They'll determine whether it needs 75 percent — in which case it goes back to the Senate and is probably dead, or a simple majority — in which case it's going to the House and will almost certainly pass.

CUTS LIKE A KNIFE: I asked Carter about Rep. Jonathan Barnett's Cut Free or Die bill. Carter has encouraged members to focus on the budget, taxation and health care. He said that he has not read the Cut Free or Die bill but "that would not fall within those categories we're...asking everyone to focus on."

ARKANSAS SLAYER: Gotta go y'all. Heading across the room to murder Lindsey and take his office, before the Ledge tries to stop me.
