Arkansas Politics Animal cruelty bills to be amended 'fairly dramatically'

Sen. Gary Stubblefield's SB13 and 14, which opponents say would weaken protection animals, will be amended "fairly dramatically," according to Sen. Jeremy Hutchinson, the original sponsor of the bills, after Stubblefield met with the attorney general's office this morning, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's Sean Beherec reports on Twitter.

The bills, which Doug Smith recently reported on for the Times, were scheduled to run in the Senate Judiciary Committee this morning.

Perhaps U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin might want to reconsider his earlier decision not to include Republican Rep. Loy Mauch on the list of Republican candidates he'd asked not to use his campaign contributions, having read some of what they'd written.
