We mentioned this morning that Rep. Tom Cotton and Sen. John Boozman offered responses to President Obama's State of the Union address. Know who else had a response? State Sen. Jason Rapert, who took to Facebook to rally the masses of real Americans. Rapert is mad as hell and HE IS NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE. Rapert states that he no longer accepts the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama and demands that Congress impeach him.

Though I have done my very best to accept his presidency, endure his consistent and ever increasing arrogance to behave as a dictator and think himself a king, denounce the value of Christianity and support the murder of innocent children through abortion - I am no longer going to enable his behavior by maintaining any level of support of him as a leader. He is no longer the true leader of a free nation. He is a despot and an opponent of the United States Constitution he swore to defend and uphold.

Rapert calls on people to "stand up and take this country back before it is too late." To Congress, he says "impeach Obama." Oh, and state nullification.

I will pray for him so that he will repent of his errors and horrible decisions and that God would save his soul. But I will also pray that he resigns, is impeached and is removed from office.

Our forefathers would not stand for his usurpation of American tradition, customs and laws. Neither should any of us.

I will leave it readers to divine whether Rapert is suggesting insurrection or merely particularly vigorous prayer.

There's a great essay to be written about the apocalyptic mode in the Tea Party movement. The very same folks who say they love America the mostest, my country right or wrong, drape themselves in American flags, riding bald eagles into manifest destiny — these same folks also believe that the entire nation is going to crumble any minute in the face of incremental policy changes. Save this nation before it is too late. For now, this great essay will suffice.

Full Rapert rant below. Read the whole thing. (Some enterprising YouTuber should mix it with Henry V's St. Crispin's Day speech. Please make this happen.)

Friends, there is a time to speak up and a time to be silent. Now is a time that I must speak up or be ashamed for doing nothing in the face of those who clearly do not value the America we have come to love.

Tonight, the man occupying the office of President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, stood in front of millions of Americans on live television and declared 2014 as a "year of action" in which he would circumvent Congress to do whatever he wants to do without their agreement - defiantly challenging Congress, the rule of law, liberty, democracy, the American Republic and freedom itself. Had he done this just 10 years ago, he would be impeached and removed from office - and he should be right now.

If our U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives do nothing to stop this man, he will end up as a dictator before our very eyes. To actually be living in a time where the U.S. Constitution is being shred into pieces by our own president is almost too much to bear.

Personally, I have seen more than enough and I am dedicated to opposing this presidential power-grab with everything I have.

We have witnessed this president command the U.S. Attorney General to not enforce the laws of our nation, stand on foreign soil and denounce the well documented fact that America is a Christian nation, lie to the American people and say we could keep our health policies if we wanted to do so, abuse executive orders enacting laws Congress would never pass, support Muslim terrorists in Egypt and Syria, war against traditional marriage, intimidate people of faith through the IRS and now Obamacare, create division that is destroying unity in our nation, spy on innocent people, attempt to restrict the right to bear arms and bury our nation under historic levels of national debt. When will Americans say "enough is enough"? My answer is that right now is the time to join together and save this nation before it is too late.

If ever we have had a more dangerous president and unprincipled leader - I cannot think of their name.

I will pray for him so that he will repent of his errors and horrible decisions and that God would save his soul. But I will also pray that he resigns, is impeached and is removed from office.

Our forefathers would not stand for his usurpation of American tradition, customs and laws. Neither should any of us.

Reflect upon who you are friends and fellow Americans, because the core of your independence as free men and women in America has been challenged by Barack Hussein Obama.

As for my immediate actions - I will begin opposing every single action Obama has pushed upon the people and the states with renewed vigor. My opposition has never wavered, though I have tried to be diplomatic. However, how many bullies and and arrogant intimidators have you ever seen respect diplomacy? Obama is behaving no differently than the average bully, but just like every other bully - things change when people decide they are not going to take the bullying anymore. This is where I am and I believe millions of Americans are at today.

Congress - impeach Obama. States - oppose him and pass nullification bills to challenge his power-grab. People - stand up and take this country back before it is too late.

God bless you and God bless America.

Respectfully,

Sen. Jason Rapert

As a designer, reading design news is nice. But only to a certain point. Design news is a quick way to feel dead inside. Reading stories about design is preferable. Enter The Great Discontent, a quarterly print and online publication that brings design back to it’s source, the people and experiences in design and all of design’s cousins. From the website, “Focusing on beginnings, creativity, and risk, TGD provides a memorable look into the lives of its subjects via long=form interviews and short features collected into a beautifully designed print artifact." Wonderful! I recommend it.
