Fox 16 reports that a Texas man arrested in the robbery of a Summit Bank branch in Benton is suspected of robbing the same bank in 2009 and 2011. The bank was robbed Tuesday and the suspect, Richard Swicegood, was caught in a traffic stop near Forrest City.
It's reminiscent of a local character given to repeat robberies of a small bank in Bauxite several decades ago.
Little Rock police say they have arrested Jasha Howard, 18, as the suspected getaway car driver in yesterday's robbery of a Bank of American branch on Highway 10 in which a bank employee was wounded in the shoulder by a shotgun blast. /more/
The Bank of America on Capitol Avenue was robbed this morning around 9:30 a.m. The bank is on the ground floor of the Bank of America building at 200 W. Capitol. Police are on the scene, and LRPD spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen says detectives are looking at surveillance video to get a better description of the perpetrator. /more/

Melinda Gwin, 49, of Hamburg has been sentenced to 21 months in federal prison and ordered to repay $210,875 stolen from the First National Bank of Crossett. She was sentenced in El Dorado federal court, according to a Justice Department news release.
Rep. Mark Lowery, a Republican from Maumelle, has introduced a bill that would put the brakes on Arkansas's implementation of standardized testing based on Common Core State Standards. Lowery says the bill is motivated in part because legislators have been told by ADE officials, unofficially, that "the PARCC contract will not be renewed" beyond the current academic year.
Wynton Marsalis visited Pine Bluff yesterday to pay a visit to the 93-year-old jazz legend Clark Terry, currently in the hospital (and accepting donations for his medical care). Terry, born in St. Louis and mentored by Louis Armstrong, played in bands with icons like Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus and Quincy Jones, and was a stated influence on trumpeters like Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie (who considered Terry the greatest jazz trumpeter in the world).
Last night, dozens of friends of TC Edwards, the Little Rock musician and man on the scene who was found murdered Dec. 7, marched in his memory, chanting "Justice for TC" and "TC is metal" as they walked from Pizza D' Action up Kavanaugh.
