Now that South Carolina is coping with unimaginable flooding, it’s time for everyone in the U.S. to join hands and chip in to disaster relief.
It would be wrong to pull a Tom Cotton. It wouldn’t be right to say South Carolina is undeserving, even if such luminaries in the South Carolina congressional delegation as Trey Gowdy and Joe “You Lie!” Wilson were among the holdouts who voted against Hurricane Sandy aid to the bitter end, just as Tom Cotton did.
I’ve asked if Cotton supports aid to a red state, despite his oposition to blue state disaster help. I’m guessing I won’t get a response. I’ve also sent a note to my old frat brother Joe Wilson on the question. I’m guessing he thinks his homestate is more deserving than Long Island or New Jersey. Tim Griffin and Steve Womack of Arkansas also opposed Sandy aid.
