Feds bust 11 on drugs, gun charges in North Little Rock

The U.S. attorney's office said 11 people have been named in three indictments for drug and firearm offenses in North Little Rock, particularly in the Dixie Addition.

The arrests grew out of Operation Dixie Days, a federal-city effort in 2014 and 2015. 

According to the U.S. attorney, Harold Barbee, Byron Leavy, Yvette Foster, and others used 924 E Street as a “trap house,” to store and sell cocaine, both powder and crack. Customers entered the front door by day and knock at a back bedroom window at night. In October 2015, officers saw 14 people walk up to the window after midnight over the course of one hour.

"We hope the peaceful neighbors of the Dixie Addition will rest better tonight knowing both that their community is safer and that federal and state authorities will continue their law enforcement efforts in Dixie Addition and throughout North Little Rock," U.S. Attorney Chris Thyer said in a prepared statement.

Two defendants, Dexter Mack and Adrion Crawford, are now fugitives. Most of the defendants are residents of North Little Rock.

The counts in today’s unsealed indictments include conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine, distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and use of a telephone to facilitate a drug trafficking crime.
