Sylvan Hills High School plans a big welcome home tomorrow for 2007 grad Jeff Henderson, who won the Olympic gold medal in the long jump.

The band, cheerleaders, athletes, former coaches and others are going to cheer Henderson when he returns to Little Rock at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Clinton National Airport.

Also, KARK and the Clinton Center have an event planned Thursday night with Henderson at the Clinton Center. The public is invited. There will be a "meet and greet" at 6:30 p.m. followed by a moderated discussion at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall of the presidential library. It's free.

Other than polite applause when he introduced his mom and dad and a still moment as he led the crowd in a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance — his night didn't get much better from there.
