A weekly lottery player, Mr. Patton said he spent a sleepless night thinking about his prize after realizing he’d won a million dollars. He first told his son about the big win, and Mr. Patton said he is going to take care of his family with the prize.

He bought the ticket at the Dumas Mart on Highway 65. State and federal income taxes totaling about $320,000 are deducted first from $1 million winning tickets.
