We went over to Hutt’s to grab lunch on a Sunday afternoon recently, my mom and daughter and I. Mom had been going by there for some time, and she wanted to give me a chance to see all they had to offer.
The menu contained several selections — a hamburger and a chicken sandwich, fried chicken, fried catfish, a beef burrito and chicken burrito. Each came with a side item. Child plates were half price.
We placed our order at the counter and had a seat. The décor inside Hutt’s is a mishmash of country and road items blended with Western. Strangest are the corner booths, made from surreys. Very, very odd, but comfortable nonetheless.Mom went up to get the complimentary chips and salsa, then I went to get the tea. Hunter went to town on the sweetish cumin-laced salsa.
We’d ordered a child’s meal for Hunter, and it came with several planks of French fries and a single thick chicken tender along with two slices of Texas toast. Hunter went from dunking chips in the salsa to doing the same with the fries.

While we were there, the clientele fluctuated. There were locals, and then there were men in leathers, apparently fresh in from a ride. These bikers must really like the fact that there are motorcycle spaces right up front.

Here’s the part where I have to admit — I screwed up and didn’t get the phone number for you. And it’s not in the phone book yet. Hopefully it will be soon and I can get that information to you. For now, know they’re open seven days and that Hutt’s is located at the corner of Highway 5 and Highway 64 in El Paso. If you’re driving through, give them a try.

Can't believe how much Hunter has grown up! it's been a while since we saw a picture of her.
never heard tell of home fries w/a burrito but it sounds good. And looks good, too.
That catfish looks good!!
I've never heard of fries with a burrito. I might have to ask for them to hold onto them. Fries and burritos don't mix in my book.
Actually, Leslie, Rocket Twenty-One didn't exactly "win the Breeder's Cup." She ran 13th out of…
