Jack Pearadin and Doug Nelsen found a 1.73-carat diamond after nearly a year of searching the park's field.
It was inevitable. With gourmet, Twitter-happy food trucks popping up all over the place in bigger, hipper cities across the country, it was just a matter of time before someone tried it here. And that's just what Jason Rogers, his brother Tyler Rogers and chef Jeffrey Palsa are doing with TheFoodTruck, which began serving last week.
"Really good sandwiches and salads" is how Jason Rogers describes TheFoodTruck's menu, which you can see here. There's "The Clarice," a roasted lamb, red pepper and lettuce sandwich. A ham and brie sandwich, a pesto chicken sandwich, a caprese, a spicy tuna wrap. All the standard salads: a chicken Caesar, a tuna nicoise, a Greek salad. And a whole lot more.
Jason Rogers works in advertising for the Sells Agency. His brother and Palsa offer the restaurant backgrounds. The latter chef brings along an impressive resume that includes stints at Allouette's, Graffiti's, 1620 and big name restaurants in D.C., Atlanta and Charleston, S.C.
Unlike most other food trucks in Little Rock (like the taco trucks we told you about a little while back), TheFoodTruck plans to stay mobile. On Friday, Jason Rogers said the crew was still scouting regular locations, but hoped to establish a routine of semi-permanent spots in different parts of Little Rock for each weekday, save Wednesday, when the theme will be "can you catch us?" Rogers said, with a new location every week that the guys hint about on Twitter and then reveal, Wednesday morning, with a Tweet.
On Friday, Rogers said TheFoodTruck planned to begin breakfast service on Monday, from around 6:30 a.m. or 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. and continue with lunch from 10:30 p.m. until around 1:30 p.m.
