Jack Pearadin and Doug Nelsen found a 1.73-carat diamond after nearly a year of searching the park's field.
The Junior League of Little Rock is back in the business of providing visions of sugar plums to dance in all of our heads on November 10 with their Holiday House competition to determine who has the greatest gingerbread architecture skills in the state. The competition is open to professionals and amateurs, and a winner from each category will be chosen by popular vote at the end of the competition. This event is one of the biggest fundraisers for the League, with proceeds going to benefit Stuff the Bus, GROW, Boosters and Big Rigs, Kota Kamp, and Nightingales at Arkansas Children's Hospital.
The event takes place November 10 from 9 a.m. - noon with the winners being announced around 2 p.m. So if you're in the mood to build a house out of pastries and candies, or just want to come and vote on your favorite, I can't think of a sweeter way to kick off the holiday season that this.
