Panera Bread at 10701 Kanis Road is having a soft opening today from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and ALL proceeds from what sales will go to Arkansas Foodbank. It’s another part of Panera’s nationwide Operation Dough-Nation — the bakery-cafe donates all its unsold bread and bakery items to foodbanks — and serves as well as employee training at the bakery-cafe, which opens officially on Monday.

For the uninitiated, Panera serves sandwiches on artisan bread, soup and bakery items, as well as a full catering menu. The new outlet will include a community table and free WiFi.
