A sad tip from Kat Robinson — Fort Smith's Calico County restaurant, featured on the Oprah Winfrey show and labeled by the Arkansas Times as one of the best breakfasts in the state a couple of years ago, was damaged in a fire that began around 2:40 this morning. According to fire marshal Chris Driggers, the fire began in the laundry room, and the adjacent kitchen suffered a lot of heat and smoke damage. He's still looking at surveillance tapes, but right now, he doesn't suspect foul play. Check Calico County's Facebook page for updates.
