By now the Thanksgiving leftovers have been consumed, the visiting family members have all returned to their proper places, and you’re starting to stress out about Christmas plans. Aside from the laborious tasks of hanging Christmas lights, trimming the tree, and decking the halls, this is actually a fantastic time to reunite with old friends, visit forsaken loved ones, and generally just be a jolly person. Nothing brings people together more than food, so let’s hear where you’ve been eating. It’s Food Feedback Friday, central Arkansas’ hottest forum for the finding and reporting of the many great dining options around town.

There are hundreds of small businesses and vendors producing quality eats that remain relatively undiscovered. This is your opportunity to give them the credit they deserve. Don’t be a Scrooge, keeping your wealth of knowledge from your neighbors… share your secrets with your fellow Arkansans! Personally, I’ve had a hankering for a good cannoli for a while now, maybe you know of a restaurant doing them well.

  • The Kraft Mac & Cheese Food Hack

Recently, we held another food hack competition, taking another childhood classic, Kraft Mac & Cheese, and tried to turn it on its head, creating something entirely new and unique. Again, the results were pretty awesome. The rules were simple: Use a whole box of mac and cheese, both noodles and cheese powder, and turn it into any sinister monstrosity imaginable. We had a vote via the Eat Arkansas Facebook page to crown a winner. Here's what was submitted:

  • Looking in on the new Le Pops, now in the Heights

Le Pops is a wonderful addition to the Heights neighborhood. Laurie Harrison is incredibly dedicated to her product, she still works here 7 days a week and is constantly experimenting in the kitchen to develop new flavors. Check them out the next time you need a cool down.

HBO's "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, which premiered last April, has consistently shown itself to be a Daily Show-level contender for the humor-news crown. Up for discussion on the show last night: the myriad ways major poultry producers exploit chicken farmers. Also featured in the video: Arkansas Republican Rep. Steve Womack, who gets plucked and roasted for placing a rider on the agriculture appropriations bill that forbids the USDA from enforcing already-written protections for the nation's poultry farmers.

  • What's not to love about the Bentonville Film Festival? Walmart.

The Bentonville Film Festival, launched this year by actress Geena Davis and held earlier this month from May 5-9, earned a number of largely positive notices from major outlets like the Huffington Post ("At the Bentonville Film Festival, Women Are Playing in the Major Leagues"), the L.A. Times ("Bentonville Film Festival pushes diversity message from year one") and the New York Times ("Bentonville, Ark., Hosts a Film Festival Without a Movie Theater"), most of them centering on its unique and vital agenda — promoting diversity and gender equality in filmmaking — and its celebrity cache (e.g. an acting workshop taught by Robert De Niro, a softball game led by Rosie O'Donnell, etc.).
