I’ve been wrestling with some fairly awful projects at work lately that has been keeping my food explorations to a minimum as of late…but all that’s over now and I’m excited to get out to some new restaurants in the near future. Stick with us…we’re got some great stuff in store.

And expect us to promote this to death over the next few weeks, but we’d love for you to enter our first food photo contest. It’s something we’ve wanted to do for some time now and we’ve lined up some great prizes for you folks. Check out all the details here.

And now it’s time for Food Feedback Friday. That time of the week in which we turn the blog over to you guys. We want to hear about all your eating excursions around Arkansas.

Last week…

Raven writes about a meal he enjoyed at E’s Bistro saying, “I had the fork tender bone in pork chop that came with a small crock pot of scalloped potatoes. Loved every bite of my meal.” Peter Griffin writes, “Ate at Cafe Prego the other week and had the veal piccata. It was fantastic, and just the right serving size.” Roobios is very pleased with a meal from Natchez saying, “The special Valentine dinner last night at Natchez was one of the best meals we've had in Little Rock, ever. Organized around a theme of Bordeaux wines (not a bad one in the bunch), the menu was four courses with every dish carried out perfectly.” Bob Edwards describes a nice meal from Bruno’s Little Italy, “Take out from Bruno's one night this week. Excellent as usual. Selections included the Fettucicnne Alfredo with grilled chicken and the Veal Saltimboca, which are both family favorites that didn't disappoint.”

Alright folks, let me hear you.

  • The Kraft Mac & Cheese Food Hack

Recently, we held another food hack competition, taking another childhood classic, Kraft Mac & Cheese, and tried to turn it on its head, creating something entirely new and unique. Again, the results were pretty awesome. The rules were simple: Use a whole box of mac and cheese, both noodles and cheese powder, and turn it into any sinister monstrosity imaginable. We had a vote via the Eat Arkansas Facebook page to crown a winner. Here's what was submitted:

  • Looking in on the new Le Pops, now in the Heights

Le Pops is a wonderful addition to the Heights neighborhood. Laurie Harrison is incredibly dedicated to her product, she still works here 7 days a week and is constantly experimenting in the kitchen to develop new flavors. Check them out the next time you need a cool down.
