After bringing home a Good Food Award in 2015, northwest Arkansas’ Onyx Coffee Lab has just been named a finalist for 2016 with their Colombian Granja la Esperanza Margaritas Natural. They are the only finalist from Arkansas in any category—and their win last year made them the very first winners ever from the state.

This year’s Good Food Awards had 1,937 entries that were narrowed down to 263 finalist through blind taste tests. Categories include beer, charcuterie, cheese, chocolate, cider, coffee, confections, honey, oils, pantry, pickles, preserves and spirits. Winners will be announced on Friday, January 15, 2016 at a big to-do at the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Winners will get medals from famed chef Alice Waters of Chez Panisse and organics pioneer Nell Newman. Best of luck to the local folks—show them again how we do coffee in Arkansas!
