Fayetteville artist Megan Chapman has a collaborative piece now on exhibit in Liverpool, England, her blog tells us (thanks for the heads up from Steve James). "Delay Before Abandon" by Chapman and Steven Heaton is in the "Chaosmos 2010" exhibit at View 2 gallery there, as part of what's called the "Independents strand" of the Liverpool Biennial.
From the Independents' website:
The Independents is one of the largest and most exciting contemporary visual arts festivals in the UK, with an exhibitions programme that runs in parallel to the Liverpool Biennial. This year the Independents will showcase more than 500 local, national and international artists in 128 events at 60 venues across Liverpool and surrounding areas. The Independents is an open access contemporary art event that showcases young blood and emerging new talent alongside established international artists. These artists create new work specifically for the Independents Festival, which always throws up unexpected and genuine surprises in extraordinary and often unusual venues.

Thanks so much for mentioning Delay before Abandon.
I am so proud of this collaborative project between myself and UK artist Steven Heaton.
Here is some more information about the project:
Delay Before Abandon
A transatlantic collaboration
This paper painting is only the beginning of a collaboration between American artist Megan Chapman and English artist Steven Heaton. The two artists have been friends for over three years and admire each others work greatly and wanted a way to work together even over such a great distance.
The collaboration began as Megan painted a work on paper and sent it to Steven knowing that her work would be added to or even covered over. Steven received the piece, documented Megan's original painting, and displayed it in his studio before he worked on the piece. When Megan receives her painting back in the mail, it will have been transformed by Steven. She will start the process again as she adds a new layer to the painting and mails it back. This single sheet of 140lb Arches watercolor paper will be sent across the ocean again and again, and as the painting morphs and changes the artists will document this process here on this blog, as they share the thrill and sometimes trepidation of this collaboration.
We are so thrilled that our piece is now apart of the Chaosmos 2010 exhibition as part of the Liverpool Independents Biennial!
