Crystal Bridges at the Massey, just off the Bentonville square, today opens an exhibit of photographs documenting the Chicago Outlaws motorcycle gang by Danny Lyon from his 1968 book. The art2aRt exhibit features black and white photos of Outlaw members that Lyon rode with for four years. Chris Crosman, curator, from the press release:

"Danny Lyon is one of the major figures in post-War American photography," said Chris Crosman, chief curator. "His immersion in his subject matter and use of text from taped interviews were groundbreaking when The Bikeriders was published and continue to be influential today."

Lyon began his photojournalism career as staff photographer for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) in the early 1960s, then took up motorcycling while studying history at the University of Chicago and in 1963.
