Exhibitions Out-of-towners: Bailin, Hembrey

Some news about exhibits not in Arkansas, one on the West Coast, one on the East:
David Bailin of Little Rock is showing his narrative charcoals at Koplin Gallery in Culver City, Calif., in an exhibition called "Between Truth and Fiction: Pictorial Narratives. The show opened Sept. 8 and runs through Oct. 19.
Shea Hembrey, an Arkansan now living in New Jersey, is exhibiting his conceptual work in "Dark Matter" at Bryce Walkowitz Gallery in New York. The Wall Street Journal weighed in on Hembrey's show.

Doctor who shot at car after Arvest robbery gets deal
The Pine Bluff doctor who decided to play policeman and fire his gun at a getaway car driven by a man who robbed Arvest Bank but hit a different car instead, has surrendered his gun and permit and will make restitution to the (innocent) owner of the damaged car in an arrangement worked out with the Pulaski County prosecutor.
