When I met Fernand Fonssagrives, the famed fashion photographer, some years ago after he had moved from New York to Little Rock, he could lift his leg straight up and beside his head. He’d been a dancer in his youth, but injured his back in a dive into a swimming pool, and took up the camera instead. As a dancer, he appreciated the fluidity of the human form and his photographs of his first wife, Lisa, a Swedish model, are classic.

Taylor’s Contemporanea in Hot Springs is opening “The Photography Show,” featuring work by Fonssagrives and living artists Thomas Petillo (of Nashville, Tenn.), Chuck Dodson and Marcus Menefee, on Friday for the Hot Springs Gallery Walk, 5-9 p.m.
