Diane LaFollette, chief operations officer of the Museum of Discovery, has changed jobs: She'll be the new executive director of the Mid-America Science Museum in Hot Springs. LaFollette was also director of the Arkansas Discovery Network, a statewide science museum coalition funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.

LaFollette worked with contractors to develop the exhibit plan at the new MOD, which was refurbished last year with a $9.2 million Reynolds grant. The Mid-America Science Museum is also about to undergo renovation and expansion, thanks to a $7.8 million Reynolds grant, matched by $1.6 million in local dollars. That renovation will include a ramp into the canopy of the forest that surrounds the museum

The MOD will have a new director on Jan. 1: Kelley Bass will succeed Nan Selz starting Jan. 1.
