Music / Coming soon Fistful of Mercy, the new Ben Harper, Joseph Arthur, Dhani Harrison 'supergroup' playing WM3 rally

The brand spanking new super-group of sorts Fistful of Mercy will make its second ever live performance Saturday at "Voices for Justice," the rally for the WM3 at Robinson Center. The group includes Ben Harper, singer/songwriter Joseph Arthur and Dhani Harrison (George Harrison's strikingly similar looking son). The trio's debut show came Tuesday night in LA in a live taping that was broadcast on KCRW today. Listen here.
At 10 p.m. Thursday there were still tickets available. But with a line-up that includes Natalie Maines, Patti Smith, Johnny Depp, these guys and Eddie Vedder, who I hear is the driving force behind recruiting all the "special guests" and is already in town, you gotta think they'll be gone soon.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but Fistful of Mercy played before a public audience (the LA performance was private) for the first time here in West Seattle at Easy Street Records:

Regardless, the more important point remains that they left magic-dust all over those lucky folks who saw them, for free no less, god bless 'em! They are a fabulously gifted melding of talents and you are in for a treat of a lifetime.
Awesome that they are doing a benefit performance. They are just great all around and West Seattle looks forward to seeing them again in their new "hometown". We are pleased as punch they changed their Facebook hometown to Seattle yesterday. We noticed. And, we "Like" it.
