The hits just keep on coming in the greater Little Rock area, and by "hits" we mean soul-destroyingly frustrating burglaries. Latest sad tale: Adam Lansky and Ant Thomaz of the local hip hop/hardcore/electronica band QuadkilleR, who had a pawnshop-sized load of audio equipment, amps, microphones and instruments stolen while moving out of a house on 17th St. in North Little Rock last weekend. The list of electronics and instruments that walked away is too long to list in the top of the post, so hit the "Continue Reading" to check it out. We're talking thousands on thousands of dollars of equipment.
Here's a little video of QuadkilleR playing — with the help of some of their now-purloined equipment — in round four of this year's Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase.
In an email to friends and fans of the band, Lansky asked those in the local music community to keep an eye out for anyone trying to sell their stolen equipment. "I'm certain these degenerate rubes don't know what in the world half this stuff is or how it works," Lansky wrote. On the upside, Lansky said the perpetrator apparently cut himself going in through a broken window, and the NLRPD got a blood sample. Maybe they'll get a hit.
A theft like this could deal a deathblow to any band, so do local music a favor and watch for any knuckleheads trying to sell this stuff in pawn shops, music shops or on Craigslist. Might be your guitar they're getting a five finger discount on next time.
If you've got any tips, email Adam Lansky at: adam.lansky@hotmail.com
